Psalm 88

Read Psalm 88

Lord, I must confess, rarely do I have the confidence in Your grace, like the psalmist does here, to talk to You so pointedly. While mentally assenting to the idea that You have perfect knowledge of me, I think my laments to You often come with my idea of how / when relief ought to arrive, let alone if it will at all.

Give us the courage Lord for such vulnerability with You. You know us, may we have the confidence in Your grace to bring what You know of us before You in prayer and relationship. Even if, as in Psalm 88, that prayer ends seemingly without relief. Let knowing You, and Your character, be our strength in carrying circumstances we might prefer to be taken from us.
