Psalm 150

The end is the beginning is the end—a good place to start. A retelling of Psalm 150 as we enter the Autumn season.

Christ City Church:

Give God all the credit and all the glory—brag on God with your life.

Let Him know it in the holy places—the quiet of your heart and home, in gathered fellowship.

Let Him know it in the highest Heavens—try to out-do the beauty of the clouds and the setting sun.

Give Him credit for His strong arm and righteous deeds—think about all He has done and tell someone!

Give Him credit that is proportionate with who He is—knowing we could never balance the scale!

Let Him know with brass—trumpets, saxophone, tuba; think: marching band kind of stuff.

Let Him know with plucking and strumming—with everything from fancy harps to folksy mandolins.

Let Him know with rhythm and dance—modern day drum and bass, techno, dub step, nothing is off limits.

Let Him know with strings and winds—chamber quartets and orchestral sections too.

Let Him know with crashing cymbals—don’t hold back, be obnoxious. (If you aren’t worried about bothering the neighbors, then you aren’t doing it right!)

Let everything that breathes and is alive—with their every breath and all of their life—give God all the credit and all the glory.

Brothers and sisters, may this be true of us Monday through Saturday… (and Sundays too).
